Bersamaan dengan penandatanganan Kesepakatan Bersama antara UI dengan Pemprov DKI Jakarta, ditandatangani pula Perjanjian Kerja Sama antara Academic Health System (AHS) UI yang diwakili oleh Dekan FKUI selaku Koordinator AHS UI, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB dengan Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi DKI Jakarta, dr. Widyastuti, MKM.
AHS merupakan konsep pelayanan kesehatan yang komprehensif dengan integrasi antara pendidikan, pelayanan dan penelitian serta mengoptimalkan partisipasi masyarakat.
Dalam AHS terdapat tiga dimensi utama, yaitu keunggulan, kolaborasi dan inovasi. Ketiga hal tersebut menjadi jiwa AHS dalam menjalankan visi dan misinya.
Tergabung dalam AHS UI adalah fakultas-fakultas yang berada dalam Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan yaitu Fakultas Kedokteran, Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi, Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan, Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat, dan Fakultas Farmasi serta rumah sakit-rumah sakit pendidikan Universitas Indonesia.
